GENERAL INFORMATION
Before renting a car with Rex, please read this important and essential annex on the reservation conditions.

When picking up the car

The client must present to the officials of the car rental company:

Voucher

Passport or identity document

Valid driving license for all drivers (driving licenses must be valid for the entire rental period and be more than two years old)

Card for payment of supplements

Car categories

Rex only confirms categories and not specific car models.

Age limits to make an income

The minimum age allowed to make a rental is 21 years and the maximum age is 80 years.

Fuel

The car is delivered with a full fuel tank and when the car is returned it must be delivered with the fuel tank as empty as possible. Keep in mind that the rental company does not refund money for the remaining fuel that may be left in the tank. The fuel used must always be "special" gasoline and is paid for at gas stations in CUP.

Returnable security deposit or bond

When renting a car, the client must leave a security deposit. This amount will be refunded at the end of the rental period according to the insurance conditions. The deposit is paid in USD and must be paid with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express card or with freely convertible currency cards issued in Cuba. US issued cards are accepted. Payments CANNOT be made in cash.

Accidents

In the event of accidents or damage, the client must immediately report the incident to the police and obtain a complete statement from the police regarding the accident. Any damage must be reported to the car rental company within 24 hours. The insurance will not cover damages caused by driving while intoxicated, drugged or under the influence of medicine. Please check that detailed information on vehicle assistance provision and telephone numbers of the car rental company are provided at the time of vehicle collection.

Car return

The car must be returned in the same condition as when it was rented. If the vehicle is returned with damages, the car rental company will charge additional charges to the client according to the insurance policy and rental conditions. These payments are made in USD with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express card or with freely convertible currency cards issued in Cuba. US issued cards are accepted. Payments CANNOT be made in cash.

Sure

Mandatory insurance provides liability relief coverage, as long as the client complies with the clauses included in the vehicle lease contract. The payment of this coverage exonerates the client from payment responsibility for the concepts:

Damage to vehicle

Loss of vehicle

Fire

Total or partial theft (except tires and music equipment)

Crash or rollover

Accidents

Natural disasters

Damage caused to the property of others or injuries to third parties that are caused when driving a vehicle on public roads

In all the cases described above, the client must immediately notify the competent authorities of the event that occurred.

The insurance does not cover partial theft, accident or fire due to negligent action by the client when it is proven by the competent authorities that the client has been driving while intoxicated or under the influence of illegal drugs or similar, or when the use of the vehicle in illicit activities.

Traffic violations

Parking tickets and traffic violations are the customer's responsibility. The police must write in the rental contract the fines that must be paid. Customers should never pay fines on the spot. Fines are paid to the car rental company when the vehicle is returned in USD with a V card
